How to get to Oruro by train
Summary
Traveling by train is one of the most comfortable ways to travel to or from Oruro city. Unfortunately the train has services just to the south side of Bolivia. Uyuni is one of the most important destinations from Oruro.
The FCA (Empresa Ferroviaria Andina S.A.) is the only railway company transporting passengers in the Bolivian Andean Region.
The rails cover about 850 kilometers in the Andes region up to the border with Argentina, where the trains are divided into two lines:
- Expreso del Sur
- Wara Wara del Sur

This train line offers a direct service between Oruro and Villazon, with short stops in the Uyuni-Atocha and Tupiza stations.

The Wara Wara del Sur line (Star of the south in Aymara language) counts with overnight departures and stops in all the intermediate stations. Safety
All the trains are properly equipped to ensure passenger safety during the trip. Also the personnel is properly trained in CPR to assit the passengers immediately in case of necessity.
The trains are equipped with:
